Who Should Apply?

If you are a marketing professional who is passionate about creating and implementing successful marketing strategies, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for someone who is innovative, creative, and can think outside of the box. To excel in this role, you will need a combination of technical marketing skills and strong leadership abilities. You should have excellent time management skills, delegation skills, great written and verbal communication, financial analysis skills, an analytical mind, sales experience, and marketing strategy knowledge. You should also be familiar with social media, advertising, and have a passion for using time wisely. It is desirable to have awareness of the Travel/Tourism Industry, knowledge/experience of the Water Sports Industry, product knowledge (wetsuits, paddleboards, etc.), consumer relations, Photoshop/Adobe skills, photography skills, marketing qualifications (degree, masters, certification), presentation skills, and a focus on customer outcomes.

It is also essential that you have experience in financial analysis, sales, and advertising. You should be passionate about customer outcomes and have a keen eye for detail. Ideally, you will have a marketing qualification such as a degree, masters, or certification, and be knowledgeable about the travel/tourism industry, as well as the water sports industry. If you have experience in Photoshop/Adobe skills and photography skills, that would be an advantage.

Your Roles and Responsibilities

As the Marketing Manager at West Country Water Park, you will play a crucial role in creating and executing marketing strategies to increase the park’s brand awareness and customer base. You will be responsible for planning and executing marketing campaigns that align with the park’s values of safety, accessibility, convenience, and fun. This includes overseeing all marketing activities and brand awareness, including the overall outreach strategy, social media management, local news/magazines, promotions, competitions, and partnerships. You will also be responsible for creating new and innovative campaigns to entice new business, and evaluating the performance of marketing channels and creating campaigns according to the best performers.

In addition to executing marketing strategies, you will also be responsible for owning the brand image and ensuring that every aspect of the park, from signage to the Instagram page, reflects the park’s values. You will produce weekly marketing impact reports, research competitor value propositions and compare them to ours, and meet with people in other departments to gather their input. You will also respond to all social media communication, delegate when required, and follow up. It will be your responsibility to evaluate the performance of marketing channels and create campaigns according to the best performers. You will also need to read financial documents, especially cash flow statements and general ledgers, and assist the sales department in reaching sales targets.
