The Experience at West Country Water Park

Georgia Devonald - Sales and Marketing

I became a part of the activities team in August 2022. I heard amazing things about the park through a friend. I knew very little about water sports and had zero lifeguarding experience. Although this was my background, I absolutely love being around water and playing sports. So, with the lifeguard training provided by West Country Water Park I was officially a lifeguard and could start work within the following week (ain’t no wasting time baby, only wisely!). I instantly fell in love with my place of work, I still continue to look forward to coming to work everyday.

I have been exposed to several opportunities since becoming a team member. I have learnt how to paddleboard, windsurf and waterski in only 6 months! I also chose to learn behind the scenes of the company and volunteered to create social media posts, the management team had recognised my diligence and offered me a promotion within the events/group booking department.

Cam Cates - Activity Team Manager

My journey at West Country Water Park started in March 2022 as a lifeguard. At the time, the park was just getting up and running. We started serving customers in May with a reception/hire zone that we built around a marquee and despite a lack of resources we ensured every customer left the park smiling. It’s fair to say that the progress in the year since then has been remarkable and I’m very proud to have been a part of it. I was offered a supervisor role over the summer of 2022 and since then I have progressed into a management position. Working at the park throws up different challenges every day and a fantastic opportunity to build your CV and progress in your career. I have learnt many new skills and got involved in a variety of activities that I had never tried before and that is why I love working here. We have a very exciting future ahead of us and I can’t wait to help the park flourish over the coming years.
