Paddleboarding Sessions

An all-ages, all-level activity you can enjoy with friends and family

Our Paddleboarding sessions are simply the best.

  • We will provide you with a buoyancy aid. You cannot use your own sorry. 
  • You can hire a paddleboard when you book online or on the day of your session, provided we still have some left. We have an extensive range and will help you choose the best board for your capability. We supply all the equipment needed.
  • You can use your own inflatable paddleboard or inflatable kayak.

You are welcome to share a paddleboard with a friend or family member. You will both need to pay for a sessions

To skip the queue you must sign a waiver before hand. This can be done before the booking is even completed. This waiver is good for all activities on the park and only needs to be signed once.

We love Children

This is how they can participate:

  • Children aged 2 to 6 are allowed on a paddle board provided they are accompanied by an Adult at a 1:1 ratio (1 Adult per Child aged between 2 and 6). You must use a buoyancy aid provided by West Country Water Park. We may have some for sale on the day for future use.
  • Children aged 6 to 8 are welcome provided they are accompanied by a Participating Adult at a ratio of 1:2 (1 Participating Adult per 2 Children aged 6 to 8)
  • Children aged 9 to 15 are able to attend sessions without a Participating Adult, an Adult still must be present at the park during the session at a ratio of 1:12 (1 Present Adult per 12 Children aged 9-15).
  • 16+ years old can access the park without Adult supervision.

***Please note we do not allow dogs in our park.

Super Jumbo SUP

Nine people, one board ….. No Problem!

Our Super Jumbo Paddle board is suitable for 4-9 participants, West Country Water Park will provide all participants with a buoyancy aid and a paddle. If you’re looking for the perfect team building activity or a floating platform to keep the children entertained look no further.

The Super Jumbo SUP is bookable as a hire product for £50 which gives you two hours of action packed fun with a unique paddle boarding experience!

Basic Paddle Board Lessons

Get out on the water and give paddleboarding a go with one of our lessons! This is the perfect way to get started if you’re a curious beginner wanting some relaxed coaching to make the most out of the sport. Our aim is to give you all the information and starter experience you need to be comfortable on the water.

It’s fun and a lot easier than you think! The session will be led by one of our in-house instructors on our O’Shea premium HDx inflatable SUPs. This is your chance to pick their brain and ask as many questions as you want! We will provide a paddleboard, paddle and buoyancy aid for each participant, lessons are bookable for up to 8 people.

What we cover in your paddleboard session:

  • 15 minutes dry land learning and safety briefing
  • 60 minutes with an instructor and 60 minutes free play
  • Equipment Anatomy, getting comfortable with the equipment and board positions
  • Launching and landing
  • Safety procedures 
  • Basic paddling technique and skills
  • Fun and games

Optional extras:

  • Wetsuits are available to buy, hire or bring your own. They are optional, you do not need to wear one
  • You don’t need footwear once on the water, you will need them getting to the water
  • You can use your own inflatable paddleboard

  • What is Paddleboarding?

    Stand up paddleboarding, also known as SUP, is a popular water sport activity that involves standing up on a board and using a paddle to make your way through the water. Imagine paddleboarding being like a combination of surfing and kayaking. Nevertheless, you do not need waves to paddleboard as you would with surfing. In fact, calm, flat water is better, especially if you’re a beginner.

  • What time is the Water Park open to the public?

    The park will be open 7 days a week, with some exceptions for events and private parties.

    Due to site upgrades our opening hours change depending on site works. Typically though Session in winter are available from 7am – 4:30pm until further notice.

  • Where is the Water Park?

    We are located just off the M4 in Bradley Stoke. You can get directions below.

  • How do I book for a group?

    To book for a group, send us a message via the form on our group page. You can find all the information for group booking here.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

    Yes. Booking is essential to secure your place.

  • How early should I arrive for my session?

    Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your session is due to start. We will not allow anyone onto the park once the session starts.

  • Do you provide wetsuits?

    We have long wetsuits for hire. Select the wetsuit of your choice at checkout. You will be able to hire a wetsuit on the day if available.

  • Are there any changing rooms?

    Yes, we have changing rooms on site, with shower and toilet facilities.

  • Is there parking?

    Yes. Parking charges may apply during peak periods.

  • Are Dogs Allowed?

    We understand that dogs are beloved members of many families and it can be difficult to leave them behind. However, for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, dogs are not permitted in the water park. This is to ensure that the water remains clean and hygienic for all to enjoy, and to prevent any accidents or incidents that could occur if dogs were present in the water. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you and your family to our water park soon.
