E-foil FAQs

If your question is not answered below, please don’t hesitate to contact us email.

  • Can I buy Alcohol at West Country Water Park?

Yes. We are a fully licensed venue. Please note, in addition to the usual UK alcohol laws, the following rules apply:

    • You may not participate in any activities if you have consumed any Alcohol.
    • No refunds will be issued if we suspect that you are intoxicated
    • No alcohol or drugs are to be brought on-site
    Our premise license is SGC/23/1609

  • What is your Lost Property Policy

As a business, we may not be able to handle lost property due to a variety of reasons. Firstly, we may not have the adequate storage space required to hold lost items. Additionally, we may not have the necessary resources or staff to manage and process lost property inquiries. Furthermore, there may be Safety, legal or liability issues involved in handling lost property, which our business may not be equipped to handle.  We ask that if you think you have left a personal belonging, please return to the West Country Water Park and collect it.  We cannot offer any assistance with your personal belongings.

  • Can I bring my own food and drink?

We don’t allow food and drinks from outside the premises to be consumed on-site. The packages we offer include options for both hot and cold catering and our onsite Café stocks a range of hot/cold food and drink options. Additional catering options can be booked through the packages as an add-on at the checkout.

  • Can I refund/transfer/move a booking?

Unfortunately, there are no refunds for any payments made. If someone cannot attend the party and their space cannot be replaced by another person there are still no refunds.  You can transfer your booking space to other people if you cannot attend on the day. Whoever participates must fill in a waiver form and follow our terms and conditions. Up to 3 days before you may change your own booking date and time through your account. To access your account, visit www.westcountrywaterpark.co.uk, click book now, click my tickets, login and amend the sessions as needed. Less than 3 days before your session we may be able to help via hello@westcountrywaterpark.co.uk. There will be a minimum £5 admin fee for any booking amendments.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, booking online in advance is essential to secure our best rates and your place. If you arrive at the park & book on the day you will pay an additional minimum of £2 for all activities.

  • Do I have to be physically fit to take part?

It is a physically challenging activity and you will need to pull yourself out of the water. Please seek your doctor's advice if you are uncertain.

  • Can I wear my glasses?

It is strongly advised not to wear your glasses on the AquaPark or whilst E-foiling, if you choose to wear plastic-framed and plastic lenses this is done entirely at your own risk. Prescription goggles are a good alternative. Metal frames and/or glass lenses will not be allowed on the AquaPark or whilst E-foiling.

  • Do I need to remove all jewellery?

Yes, all jewellery must be removed before you enter the AquaPark and E-foiling. If you have recently had any piercings please bring the appropriate tape to cover them.

  • Can I participate if I am pregnant?

No. While it may be disappointing for pregnant women not to be able to enjoy a day on our AquaPark or E-foils and the water parks activities, it's essential to prioritize the health and safety of both the mother and the developing fetus. Pregnant women are advised to avoid water parks and other water activities for several reasons:

    1. Risk of infection: Pregnant women have a weakened immune system and are more susceptible to infections.
    2. Physical strain: Pregnancy can put physical strain on the body, and activities such as swimming, sliding, and other water park attractions can further increase the risk of injury or harm to both the mother and the developing fetus.
    3. Increased risk of premature labour: Some high-intensity water activities can cause a sudden increase in blood pressure, triggering premature labour or other complications in pregnancy.
Do come and watch; it won't be long before you are enjoying water sports activities with your child.

  • Are there any changing rooms?

Yes, we have changing rooms and toilet facilities.

  • What happens if there is a storm?

The lake is well protected from the elements and as such is very rarely affected by bad weather. Thunder and lightning: if lightning is present in a 6 mile radius all activities close for a period of 30-minutes. Depending on the severity of the storm, your session may be cancelled. If we have to cancel we will refund your ticket and/or rebook you onto another convenient session. We use https://www.lightningmaps.org/#m=ses;t=3;s=0;o=0;b=;ts=0;z=15;y=51.5405;x=-2.5333;d=2;dl=2;dc=0; to keep an eye on lightning in our area.

  • How long does it take to learn to E-foil?

Most people are able to stand and ride within their first session, with guidance from our instructors.

  • What should I wear?

Bring swimwear and a towel. We provide buoyancy aids, and wetsuits as part of lessons. Bring your own and hire sessions can also hire wetsuits if needed.

  • Is E-foiling safe?

Yes. When supervised and following instructions. All sessions include safety briefings and controlled riding areas.

  • Can I hire an E-foil without a lesson?

No. However if you can show demonstrate competency and be deemed safe to ride. We have an in-house test that you will need to pass. Note if you book and fail the test we will not provide a refund but will rebook or transfer your session to another date at a £15 fee.

  • Is it hard to control the E-foil board?

It can feel unusual at first, but most riders quickly get the hang of it with a bit of practice.
