West Country Water Park is excited to introduce a brand new activity – Running Club.

Our lakeside running club welcomes everyone.

We believe in supporting each other’s goals and celebrating every step, whether fast or slow. So let’s come together to enjoy the beauty of nature, boost our fitness levels, and, most importantly, have a blast while doing it.

The runs will be led by Claire Petrie, founder of Play Fitness Club. Claire is a Qualified Personal Trainer and a Leader in Running Fitness and is on a mission to share the joy of running with others.

Claire can answer any fitness, running or strength-related questions and host a coffee after the run for those who would like to grab a cuppa and chat.

What to expect for your session

a quick step by step

  • Arrive 15 minutes before your session begins
  • To fast-track through our reception, please sign your waiver before you get here. You only need to do this once per year.
  • You can get changed into your running gear in our on-site changing rooms
  • You will meet up with Clair Petrie before your session
  • Claire will begin your run around the track

Meet our incredible instructor

Introducing: Claire Petrie

I am 47 years old and Mum to two boys aged 10 and 7. I live in Bristol (born and bred), and I really love running. I dreamt of a career in fitness for years as I spent hours dreaming up ways that I could ‘run for a living’, so when the joys of 2020 hit and the world went sideways I decided it was time to bite the bullet and give it a go. After all, you’re never too old to try something new.

Now a qualified Personal Trainer and LiRF, I am on a mission to help people find joy through fitness, movement and connection. I am dedicated to taking the scary out of the gym, and the competition out of running, because I believe that any form of exercise is PLAY time – it should be fun!

  • Do I need to be experienced?

    People of all abilities and experience can take part in Running Club.

  • Where is the Water Park?

    We are located close to M4 & M5 motorways and less than an hour drive from Cardiff, Newport, Weston-Super-Mare and Bath. Bristol city centre is only 17 minutes away by car. Use the What 3 Words code below to get directions from your location.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

    Yes. Booking is essential to secure your place.

  • How early should I arrive for my session?

    Please arrive at least 20 minutes before your session is due to start. Due to the nature of these sessions, it may not be possible or fair to allow you to join the session late.
