Paddleboarding Sessions

An all-ages, all-level activity you can enjoy with friends and family

Our Paddleboarding sessions are simply the best.

  • We will provide you with a buoyancy aid. You cannot use your own sorry. 
  • You can hire a paddleboard. We supply all the equipment needed.
  • You can use your own inflatable paddleboard.

You are welcome to share a paddleboard with a friend or family member. Everyone entering the water will need a session pass. 

To reduce queue times you must sign a waiver before you travel. The waiver applies for all activities on the park.

Inflatable Kayaks

Inflatable kayaking is the perfect way to explore the beautiful water of West Country Water Park.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced paddler, our inflatable kayaks are the perfect choice for all skill levels. With a wide and stable platform, our inflatable kayaks offer excellent manoeuvrability and control, making it easy to explore and enjoy our lake.

We love Children

This is how they can participate:

  • Children aged 2 to 6 are allowed on a paddle board provided they are accompanied by an Adult at a 1:1 ratio (1 Adult per Child aged between 2 and 6). You must use a buoyancy aid provided by West Country Water Park.
  • Children aged 6 to 8 are welcome provided they are accompanied by a Participating Adult at a ratio of 1:2 (1 Participating Adult per 2 Children aged 6 to 8)
  • Children aged 9 to 15 are able to attend sessions without a Participating Adult, an Adult still must be present at the park during the session at a ratio of 1:12 (1 Present Adult per 12 Children aged 9-15).
  • 16+ years old can access the park without Adult supervision.

***Please note we do not allow dogs in our park.

Super Jumbo SUP

Nine people, one board ….. No Problem!

Our Super Jumbo Paddle board is suitable for 4-9 participants, West Country Water Park will provide all participants with a buoyancy aid and a paddle. If you’re looking for the perfect team building activity or a floating platform to keep the children entertained look no further.

The Super Jumbo SUP is bookable as a hire product for £50 which gives you two hours of action packed fun with a unique paddle boarding experience!

Basic Paddle Board Lessons

Get out on the water and give paddleboarding a go with one of our lessons! This is the perfect way to get started if you’re a curious beginner wanting some relaxed coaching to make the most out of the sport. Our aim is to give you all the information and starter experience you need to be comfortable on the water.

It’s fun and a lot easier than you think! The session will be led by one of our in-house instructors. This is your chance to pick their brains and ask as many questions as you want! We will provide a paddleboard, paddle and buoyancy aid for each participant, lessons are bookable for up to 6 people.

What we cover in your paddleboard session:

  • 15 minutes dry land learning and safety briefing
  • 45 minutes with an instructor and 60 minutes free play
  • Equipment Anatomy, getting comfortable with the equipment and board positions
  • Launching and landing
  • Safety procedures 
  • Basic paddling technique and skills
  • Fun and games

Optional extras and further notes

  • Wetsuits are available to buy, hire or bring your own. Wetsuits are optional, you do not need to wear one
  • You don’t need footwear once on the water, you will need them getting to the water
  • You can use your own inflatable paddleboard
  • You can use your own inflatable kayak

Paddleboarding FAQs

  • What is your Lost Property Policy

    As a business, we may not be able to handle lost property due to a variety of reasons. Firstly, we may not have the adequate storage space required to hold lost items. Additionally, we may not have the necessary resources or staff to manage and process lost property inquiries. Furthermore, there may be Safety, legal or liability issues involved in handling lost property, which our business may not be equipped to handle.  We ask that if you think you have left a personal belonging, please return to the West Country Water Park and collect it.  We cannot offer any assistance with your personal belongings.

  • Are water activities safe for children?

    As with any water sports/leisure activity there is an element of risk involved in taking part, whatever the age of the participant. We minimise the risks by using risk assessments alongside the best equipment and training our lifeguards regularly and to a high level. We brief all customers with our health and safety procedures and rules before anybody begins an activity. We do not tolerate dangerous behaviour and anybody deemed to be putting themselves or others at risk of injury will be asked to exit the water. We do not allow under 6 years to participate in any activity accept paddle boarding. 

  • Can I bring my own food and drink?

    We don’t allow food and drinks from outside the premises to be consumed on-site. The packages we offer include options for both hot and cold catering and our onsite Café stocks a range of hot/cold food and drink options. Additional catering options can be booked through the packages as an add-on at the checkout.

  • Do I need to sign a waiver?

    Yes. Everyone who uses our lake, or comes into the building is required to sign a waiver. Those under 16 must have their parents or guardians sign their waiver. Permission by phone or email is not sufficient.

  • Do you have a payment plan?

  • Can I refund/transfer/move a booking?

    Unfortunately, there are no refunds for any payments made. If someone cannot attend the party and their space cannot be replaced by another person there are still no refunds.  You can transfer your booking space to other people if you cannot attend on the day. Whoever participates must fill in a waiver form and follow our terms and conditions. Up to 3 days before you may change your own booking date and time through your account. To access your account, visit www.westcountrywaterpark.co.uk, click book now, click my tickets, login and amend the sessions as needed. Less than 3 days before your session we may be able to help via hello@westcountrywaterpark.co.uk. There will be a £5 admin fee for any booking amendments.

  • Are Dogs Allowed?

    We understand that dogs are beloved members of many families and it can be difficult to leave them behind. However, for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, dogs are not permitted in the water park. This is to ensure that the water remains clean and hygienic for all to enjoy, and to prevent any accidents or incidents that could occur if dogs were present in the water. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you and your family to our water park soon. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly staff.

  • What is the minimum age?

    Children under 6 years are not currently permitted access to any water activities other than paddleboarding and RC Boating.
    children aged 3 and above can take part in paddleboarding/RC Boating as long as they are accompanied by an adult that is over the age of 18.
    If your child is aged 6-8 they must be supervised by a participating, responsible, person over the age of 18 at a ratio of 1 adult per 2 children. For 9-15 year olds participating supervision is not required, however, there must be a responsible person over the age of 18 spectating throughout their session. Teenagers aged 16+ do not require supervision.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

    Yes, booking online in advance is essential to secure our best rates and your place. If you arrive at the park & book on the day you will pay full price which is an additional £2 for all activities.

  • Can I participate under the influence of alcohol or drugs?

    No! If we suspect you have taken any drug or alcohol we will not allow you to enter the park. However, if you are not participating in any activities, you are welcome to buy an alcoholic beverage from our cafe!

  • Can I dress up?

    Sadly as much as we want to see your mad costumes, for your safety please wear swimwear only. We do run fancy-dress sessions, read more about these here: https://westcountrywaterpark.co.uk/activities/outdoor-openwater-swimming/

  • Is there parking?

    Yes. Be aware that parking charges may apply during peak periods.

  • Can I hire Kayaking Equipment at the Water Park?

    Yes, we have a wide range of Kayaking equipment available for hire with only a small deposit to secure the equipment.

  • Where is the Water Park?

    We are located just off the M4 in Bradley Stoke. You can get directions below.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

    Yes. Booking is essential to secure your place. Do not travel until you have secured your session. We do not offer refunds for any reason.

  • How early should I arrive for my session?

    Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your session is due to start.

  • Do you provide wetsuits?

    We have wetsuits for hire. Select wetsuit hire during checkout. We will provide you with the best size on the day. You might be able to hire a wetsuit on the day and if available they will be cost more.

  • Are there any changing rooms?

    Yes, we have changing rooms on site.

  • Is there parking?

    Yes. Parking charges may apply during peak periods.

  • Do you have showers

    Yes. Our outdoor showers are hot. Please do not bring soap as our showers run into soak aways which are not able to cope with soap.

  • Are Dogs Allowed?

    No. Please leave your dogs at home.
