Remote Controlled Boating at West Country Water Park

Remote control boating is an exciting and unique activity that involves operating miniature boats using a remote control. The water park features a large lake that is ideal for remote control boating enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.

You will need your own RC Boat. We sometimes have stock boats to sell but these sell quickly in season so are not always available.

  • Electric-Powered RC Boats (no speed limits)
  • Scale or Semi-Scale Models
  • Sailboats

We no-longer allow gas/nitro RC boats due to pollution concerns.

What to expect from my RC Boating session

In order to ensure all lake users can enjoy their sessions we have created an RC Boating zone which separated from all other water users.

This zone may change depending on the weather conditions and the lifeguard/manager on duty will advise accordingly.

What do I do when I arrive for my RC Boating Session

What to expect on arrival

Please checkin at reception before you unpack any of your equipment.

You must park in the car park behind the building when you arrive. The reception team will advise on more accessible parking should your require access to your equipment during your session.

Please do not park on the main access road.

  • What if I sink my RC Boat

    RC Boat Recovery Policy

    If you’re unlucky enough to sink your RC boat, we charge a £35/hour retrieval fee. Unfortunately, we cannot leave a sunken boat in the water, as it poses a safety risk to other users.

    Please note: You are not permitted to enter the water unless authorised by the Duty Manager.

  • Can I buy an RC boat at West Country Water Park

    We usually sell a range of remote controlled boats in our on-site shop.

  • Can I hire an RC boat?

    We currently do not offer RC boats for hire.

  • Can I bring my own food and drink?

    We don’t allow food and drinks from outside the premises to be consumed on-site. The packages we offer include options for both hot and cold catering and our onsite Café stocks a range of hot/cold food and drink options. Additional catering options can be booked through the packages as an add-on at the checkout.

  • Do I need to sign a waiver?

    Yes. Everyone who uses our lake, or comes into the building is required to sign a waiver. Those under 16 must have their parents or guardians sign their waiver. Permission by phone or email is not sufficient.

  • Can I refund/transfer/move a booking?

    Unfortunately, there are no refunds for any payments made. If someone cannot attend the party and their space cannot be replaced by another person there are still no refunds.  You can transfer your booking space to other people if you cannot attend on the day. Whoever participates must fill in a waiver form and follow our terms and conditions. Up to 3 days before you may change your own booking date and time through your account. Less than 3 days before your session we may be able to help via hello@westcountrywaterpark.co.uk. There will be a £5 admin fee for any booking amendments.

  • Are Dogs Allowed?

    We understand that dogs are beloved members of many families and it can be difficult to leave them behind. However, for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, dogs are not permitted in the water park. This is to ensure that the water remains clean and hygienic for all to enjoy, and to prevent any accidents or incidents that could occur if dogs were present in the water. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you and your family to our water park soon. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly staff.

  • What is the minimum age?

    Children under 6 years are not currently permitted access to any water activities other than paddleboarding and RC Boating.
    children aged 3 and above can take part in paddleboarding/RC Boating as long as they are accompanied by an adult that is over the age of 18.
    If your child is aged 6-8 they must be supervised by a participating, responsible, person over the age of 18 at a ratio of 1 adult per 2 children. For 9-15 year olds participating supervision is not required, however, there must be a responsible person over the age of 18 spectating throughout their session. Teenagers aged 16+ do not require supervision.

  • Do I need to book in advance?

    Yes, booking online in advance is essential to secure our best rates and your place. If you arrive at the park & book on the day you will pay full price which is an additional £2 for all activities.

  • Can I participate under the influence of alcohol or drugs?

    No! If we suspect you have taken any drug or alcohol we will not allow you to enter the park. However, if you are not participating in any activities, you are welcome to buy an alcoholic beverage from our cafe!

  • Is there parking?

    Yes. Be aware that parking charges may apply during peak periods.
