24. Bookings, cancellations and amendments
24.1 How timings and fees work All timings in this section are counted back from the start time of your session. All fees are charged per booking, not per person. A simple guide is on our Cancellations & amendments page.
24.2 Cancellations and refunds You may cancel a booking for a refund only if your session is more than 14 days away, in which case a £10 cancellation fee is deducted. Refunds are made to your original payment method and processed within 24 hours; your bank may take a few working days to show the refund. From 14 days before your session, refunds are not available.
24.3 Changing your booking yourself If your session is more than 72 hours away, you may change the date or time yourself, free of charge, through My Tickets (visit westcountrywaterpark.co.uk, click Book Now, then My Tickets, and log in). You must pay any difference in price.
24.4 Changes we make for you If your session is between 24 and 72 hours away, we can change it for an administration fee of £5. If your session is less than 24 hours away, a change costs 50% of the total booking value, including hire fees (minimum £5). To request a change, email hello@westcountrywaterpark.co.uk and follow the instructions in our automatic reply. Changes are subject to availability; if the session you want is not available, your original booking remains unchanged. Your new session is confirmed only once the fee and any price difference have been paid, and payment must be made before you arrive. If the new session costs less, no refund or credit is given for the difference. Fees are non-refundable once paid, and each new change request carries a new fee.
24.5 Gift cards instead of your booking You may swap your booking for a gift card. If your session is more than 24 hours away, the gift card is for the booking value minus £10. If it is less than 24 hours away, the gift card is for the booking value minus 50% (minimum £5). Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
24.6 Transfers A booking space may be transferred to another person if the original booker cannot attend. The person taking the space must complete a participant waiver form and agree to these Terms and Conditions before participating.
24.7 Weather, no-shows and late arrivals If we are open, these terms apply whatever the weather. If you do not attend, your booking is forfeited and no refund, change or gift card is available. If you arrive late, you may not be able to join once a session has started, and no refund will be due, unless the delay was caused by us (see section 24.15).
24.8 Retail purchases Swim caps, anti-slip socks and other merchandise bought with a booking are not included in the fees above and remain available to collect on your next visit.
24.9 Bookings with their own terms Corporate away days, school bookings, private functions (including lake hire and meeting room hire) and memberships have their own cancellation terms, set out on their pages or in your booking agreement. Where those terms differ, they apply instead of this section.
24.10 Cooling-off period The 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 does not apply to leisure activities booked for a specific date or period.
24.11 Sessions we cancel We may need to cancel a session because of weather, lightning, water quality, safety or other operational reasons. If we cancel your session, the fees in sections 24.2 to 24.5 do not apply. We will email you, and text you where we have a mobile number, offering a choice of: a full refund to your original payment method; a free move to another available session; or a gift card for the full amount you paid. To choose, reply to our email within 28 days of the date we sent it. If we have not heard from you within 28 days, these options will no longer be available. For complimentary sessions, see section 24.12.
24.12 Complimentary sessions A complimentary session is one we have given you free of charge, for example as a prize, a goodwill gesture or a promotional offer. It does not include bookings paid for with a gift card, which follow the normal rules in this section. Complimentary sessions have no cash value and cannot be cancelled for a refund or swapped for a gift card. If your session is more than 72 hours away, you may move it yourself free of charge through My Tickets, or we can move it for you for an administration fee of £5. If your session is 72 hours away or less, including on the day, the only way to move it is for us to do so for an administration fee of £5, which replaces the fee in section 24.4. You must ask us before your session starts (see section 24.13). The other conditions in section 24.4 still apply: changes are subject to availability, the fee must be paid before you arrive, fees are non-refundable once paid and each new change request carries a new fee. The £5 fee is the only charge; no price difference is payable when moving a complimentary session. If any part of the booking was paid for, such as equipment hire, that part follows the normal rules in sections 24.2 to 24.5. If you do not attend, the complimentary session is forfeited. If we cancel a complimentary session under section 24.11, you may choose either a free move to another available session or a complimentary gift card for the same activity, valid for 12 months.
24.13 Requests made by email Where these terms ask you to contact us before a deadline, including before your session starts, we go by the time your email reaches hello@westcountrywaterpark.co.uk, not the time we reply. A request that reaches us before the deadline counts as made in time, even if our reply comes later.
24.14 Sessions we stop part-way If we stop a session for weather, lightning, water quality, safety or operational reasons before half of the session time has run, we treat it as a session we cancelled and section 24.11 applies. If we stop it after half of the session time has run, we will offer you a free move to another session of the same activity, subject to availability. No refund or gift card is due in that case.
24.15 Delays we cause If you miss the start of your session because of a delay on our side, such as a queue at reception or a problem with our booking or waiver systems, we treat it as a session we cancelled and section 24.11 applies. Delays caused by travel or arriving late are covered by section 24.7.
25. Participation and safety All participants must complete a waiver form before taking part in any activity at West Country Water Park. Participation is conditional on completion of the waiver. Any person who is unable or unwilling to complete the waiver will not be permitted to participate, and no refund will be due.
Participants must comply with all safety instructions and rules communicated by our staff at the venue. West Country Water Park reserves the right to remove any participant from an activity if, in the reasonable opinion of our staff, their behaviour presents a risk to themselves or others.
Sauna temperature. Our sauna operates between 60°C and 100°C. A temperature of 60°C or above is within our normal operating range and is not grounds for a refund, change or compensation.
If you believe the sauna is below 60°C, you must stop using it immediately and tell the duty manager before continuing your session. The manager will check the temperature. If it is below 60°C, you may choose either a free rebook to another sauna session or a full refund of that sauna session.
Sauna sessions that have been used, in full or in part, are not eligible for a refund on temperature grounds unless the temperature was reported to the duty manager as set out above.
Issues on the day. If something is not right on the day, tell the duty manager at reception before you leave so we can put it right there and then. The duty manager can offer a free move to another session or a gift card for the full value of the affected session. We do not give cash or card refunds on site. Any issue we cannot put right on the day must be reported to the duty manager before you leave the site. We cannot consider issues raised for the first time after your visit, except where these terms say otherwise (for example section 24.11 and the sauna terms above).
26. Keeping a copy You can save or print a copy of these terms using your browser’s print option.
